FAMILY SETUP
One of the greatest gifts one can give to a child is a sense of belonging to a ‘family’. The ideal home comprises of 20 children and the foster parents who live with them are resident there with biological children of their own as one complete unit. We are of the opinion that children in over-crowded institutional orphanages receive sub-standard care from workers who are underpaid with no proper skills or bonding with the children under their care.
FAITH
Grace Home is a non-denominational Christian home. Although we are not affiliated with any particular denomination, we interact with a number of Christian churches to build a strong spiritual base for the children under our care.
Like any other Christian family, prayer is an important factor in the daily routine – before school, at meals, bedtime and for special needs. We have regular Bible memory verses for the children under our care and incorporate our faith into our lives.
OPERATIONAL PRINCIPLES
Since its inception, Grace Home has always believed in local leadership and grass-root support. It is these attributes which have kept the organizational functionally strong and provided a firm base for significant expansion. The local leadership, knowledge and a sense of ownership amongst leaders of the community receiving aid has provided for Grace Children’s Care to be run by able and trusted local leaders.
Although we are a Christian home, we are multi-denominational, welcoming involvement and input from a diverse cross section of Christian groups and individuals and also from people from other faiths. We welcome inter-linking with any organization that shares our vision to assist our children of Grace Home.
